Grand Central Terminal in New York City opened to the public on 2 February 1913, 100 years ago this weekend. Even today, it remains the largest train station in the world by number of platforms, with 67 tracks across two levels – and that’s in spite of it being repeatedly blown up every time Bruce Willis makes another Die Hard movie
