Infosecurity Buzzword Bingo update

A new addition to the IT Buzzword Bingo lexicon of guff has been launched at Infosecurity Europe: ‘communities of convergence’.

It means focusing marketing or product messages at overlap zones, rather than at defined sectors, disciplines, or specialist groups, with the intention of convincing people within those areas that their focus is evolving inevitably (and critically, of course) toward unification with another area.

Specific example: ‘IT departments and facilities management departments are evolving communities of convergence as their foci coalesce going forward’.
