Prime Minister David Cameron has announced today a new initiative that aims to create 100,000 registered engineering technicians by 2018 to tackle the shortage of skills in several sectors. Part of the announcement was a showcase of a real-size replica of a Bloodhound rocket car. A joint project of several British technical companies and educational institutions, the Bloodhound aims to beat the world speed record next year in South Africa and inspire the next generation of engineers in the UK.
