Rampant population growth, the increasing use of groundwater for farming and industry, and the incessant guzzling of our recommended two-litre daily intake of the stuff by health-conscious hydrated humans is all conspiring to push water to the brink. The UN has warned that if these trends continue, a serious water crisis is looming, scheduled to arrive and dessicate us all within a mere 15 years.
