The Paris Air Show is coming soon to the skies of our Gallic pals across the English Channel, with a couple of notable planes to be spotted. The US Air Force’s F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter is scheduled to appear at this year’s Show, with Lockheed Martin pilots performing the first aerial demonstration in the skies above Le Bourget. #Wannacry #ransomware #cyberattack – an annotated infographic

Private companies and public services are recovering from the impact of Friday’s international cyber attack. The malware was found to exploit a vulnerability identified by the US National Security Agency (NSA), provoking debate over who is responsible for the attack. “WannaCry”, the bug responsible for the chaos, is a type of ransomware. Ransomware blocks access to data and demands a ransom to restore access. WannaCry has been demanding payments of $300 to $600 dollars in bitcoin to restore access to encrypted files, threatening to double the ransom after three days and delete the files after seven days. A number of companies around the world are actively developing small, personal flying car-planes, many of which are able to take off and land vertically in order to beat urban traffic congestion and enable their owners to – literally – rise above the earth-bound commuting masses. Recently, E&T news reported that pre-orders opened for a $1m (£780,000) flying car set to launch in 2020, while German company Lilium has carried out a series of successful test flights for a flying taxi.
