Firth of Forth Queensferry Crossing to open – an annotated infographic

The new Queensferry Crossing over the Firth of Forth is scheduled to open to road traffic after several delays. The 2.7km structure will be the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world and also the largest to feature cables which cross mid-span. It forms part of Scotland’s east coast transport corridor and runs alongside the venerable Forth Rail Bridge and Forth Road Bridge, which will be dedicated to public transport, cycling and walking. Boeing has topped Airbus in the air show order haul for the first time since 2012, driven by 336 orders and commitments for its new 737 Max 10 narrowbody aircraft alone – worth up to $40 billion at list prices. The biggest buyer at the Paris show was General Electric Co.’s GE Capital Aviation Service (GECAS), which ordered 100 Airbus planes valued at $10.8 billion.
