Malaysia Airlines flight #MH370 – mysterious underwater sound could be linked to missing plane – an annotated infographic

While it has been deemed unlikely that the deep-sea pings picked up by search teams in April originated from the black boxes of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, a new sound has now piqued the curiosity of Australian researchers. The researchers have released data about an underwater sound that could possibly be linked to the final moments of the missing jetliner. A broad rectangular area in the Indian Ocean, some distance north of the previous search areas, has been outlined as the location of a “loud thump” sound recorded by undersea receivers. As E&T news reported last week, Indian car-maker Hindustan Motors has announced the end of production of the Ambassador, India’s trademark vehicle which has barely changed since its introduction in 1958. Hindustan Motos said weak demand and financial difficulties had been the main reason behind the decision. The Ambassador, though now considered completely Indian, was modelled on the Morris Oxford III manufactured by Morris Motors, an Oxford-based company, between 1956 and 1959. #Google debuts self-driving cars – electric two-seater prototype to hit the roads within a year – an annotated infographic

The world got a little bit stranger recently, as the hitherto science-fiction dream of driverless cars cruised closer to reality with the announcement by Google that it is building a self-driving car with no steering wheel, no brake and no accelerator pedals – just buttons for go and stop.
