Firth of Forth Queensferry Crossing to open – an annotated infographic

The new Queensferry Crossing over the Firth of Forth is scheduled to open to road traffic after several delays.

The 2.7km structure will be the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world and also the largest to feature cables which cross mid-span.

It forms part of Scotland’s east coast transport corridor and runs alongside the venerable Forth Rail Bridge and Forth Road Bridge, which will be dedicated to public transport, cycling and walking.

It surely is one heck of a bridge.
